RentPlace Refund Policy Charges are final, with three narrow exceptions.

RentPlace plans are billed in advance and the listing time you buy starts the moment you pay. This page explains why we do not refund that time and the few situations where we correct a charge.

Last updated 14 October 2026

1. The short version

Every payment to RentPlace is final. Once a Landlord, Portfolio, Manager or Enterprise plan is paid, your listings can go live, screening questions start collecting answers and inquiries reach your inbox. That capacity is yours for the whole period, used or not, so we do not hand the money back afterwards. The only exceptions are listed in section 4.

2. Starting the service right away

When you check out, you ask us to open your plan immediately rather than after any waiting period. Where consumer law gives a right to withdraw from a digital service within 14 days, that right ends once the service has started with your express consent and your acknowledgement that it ends. Placing the order is that request.

3. What we do not refund

  • A unit that leased through another site, a relative or a yard sign before your period ran out.
  • A period in which you published fewer listings than your plan allows, or none at all.
  • A renewal you meant to cancel but did not cancel before the renewal date.
  • Choosing a larger plan than your portfolio needed, or annual billing when monthly would have done.
  • The number of inquiries, views or applications a listing receives. We do not promise how fast a unit leases.
  • The unused part of a month or year after you cancel or move to a smaller plan.
  • A change of mind, a change in your rental business or the sale of a property.

4. When we do correct a charge

We return money in three situations only.

  • You were billed twice. If a fault on our side charged the same plan for the same period more than once, the extra charge comes back in full.
  • Someone else paid with your card. If a charge was made without your permission and you report it within 14 days, we look into it. Where the evidence supports your report, we return that charge.
  • The service did not work at all. If RentPlace was unavailable to you for most of a billing period because of a fault on our side, and you told us while it was happening, we refund the affected period.

Any refund is capped at what you paid for the period concerned and goes back to the card used for that payment. Write to support@rentplace.com from the email address on your account within 14 days of the charge, with the date and amount.

5. Cancelling a plan

You can switch off renewal from your account at any time. Your listings and tools stay available until the end of the period you already paid for, then the plan stops. Cancelling ends future charges; it does not reverse a charge that has already gone through, and we do not pro-rate partial periods.

6. Renewals and retried payments

Plans renew automatically at the start of each month or year until you cancel. A renewal charge is due once the new period opens, even if it fails the first time and our payment operator retries it a few days later. A retried charge that succeeds is a normal renewal, not a mistake.

7. Records we keep

To answer questions about a charge, we keep your acceptance of the terms of service with its time, a log of activity on your account (sign-ins, listings published, inquiries received) and the payment record held by our payment operator, including the result of 3D Secure verification.

8. Disputing a charge with your bank

Please contact us before you contact your bank. Most billing questions are settled in a reply. Filing a chargeback for a charge described on this page, without first writing to us, breaches the terms of service and leads to the account being closed.

9. How to reach us

Billing questions go to support@rentplace.com. See also the terms of service and the privacy policy.
